The beautiful village of Nerja; the Pearl of the Costa del Sol. Nerja is located in the Axarquia. Nerja is located on the Mediterranean Sea on the Costa del Sol, 55 km east of Malaga.

Things to do and see in Nerja:

Nerja is bordered by the mountains of Sierra de Almijara in the North. This keeps the heat in the summer out of Nerja because the mountains stop the heat. In winter, the mountains keep the cold from coming and cannot reach Nerja. The climate remains very pleasant with many bright blue sunny days on the coast. The climate of Nerja is called the best in the world. 

Nerja has beautiful beaches such as Playa Burriana with its boulevard with restaurants, shops and tapas. The small bays Playa Playa Calahonda, Carabeo enPlaya El Salon are located close to the Balcon de Europa. At the Plaza de los Cangrejos are many terraces and restaurants. The Playa El Playazo beach lies to the West of Nerja and it has a long and quiet beach with some simple chiringuitos; simple eateries right on the beach.

The beautiful Balcon de Europa is 23 metres above sea level. You have fantastic views over the sea and the mountains behind Nerja. A beautiful promenade with palm trees leads to the El Salvador located on the other side of the square white Church. The cosy centre of Nerja has fun shopping streets and countless restaurants and tapas bars.

          

In the immediate vicinity of Nerja you can hike through the beautiful nature of the natural park El Sierrade Tejeda and Almijara. The walk through Rio Chillar is great fun to do with children

Nerja caves (Cuevas de Nerja) are located in Maro, approximately 4 km from Nerja village. The caves are discovered in 1959, have beautiful strange stalactites. In the top 5 of sights of Spain. 

Weekly market on Tuesday from 10: 00 to 14: 00. Rastromarkt (flea market) on Sunday mornings.
